The Stuttgart Experience

With the UK exhibition culture facing challenging times, Team newtech went on the road to Südback in Stuttgart to find out whether the big German shows still pay dividends for machine builders. So, how did we get on?

Stuttgart is a pretty big show which attracts all of the big bakery companies as well as their supply chain. Although not as big as its Bavarian big brother, IBA, it fills the gaps nicely while IBA takes its interim two year break. Location-wise, Südback ticks the boxes – the Messe is located at the airport with great facilities. The show is well organised and as far as exhibitors go, well supported.

Our robotic ultrasonic slicer, the roboSONIC-C compact machine was on show and it certainly sparked plenty of interest in our stand visitors – a healthy mix of machine re-sellers and end users. High on the list of requirements which were discussed on the stand were flexibility, compactness and price – and certainly we were pleased with the feedback we received on the ability of the kit to meet all these requirements.

 The Stuttgart Experience

All in all, the Stuttgart experience was a positive one. We’re pleased to report that the German show culture is alive and well, and it’s a platform from where the German bakery market likes to initiate business. We’ll be eagerly following up all our potential customers over the next few days, and if you were one of the lucky ones that got to see our robot system in action – thank you!
